If you could see with my eyes, and filter the world through your lashes
You’ll see how the light precedes the dark, how fire becomes but ashes
How the moon is but a soft white glow, a reflection of a burning light
You’d wonder how you lived so long, with that same blanket at night.
If you could hear what I hear filtered through the vibrations of your bones
Ignoring the sounds that loiter on the tongue and life’s repetitive tones
You’ll hear the sounds of creation and the murmurs of our existence
And you’ll wonder why your ears couldn’t hear through the distance.
If you could feel what I feel filtered through the folded creases of your finger
Placing your heart between those palms, upon the scars, let them linger
You’ll see your soul intertwine and manifest within each beat of your being
Now you wonder how, why and what you’re not seeing?
